medical center with nonlife-threatening injuries. >>> this morning, police in vallejo have a double killing of a dispute between neighbors. amy hollyfield is on the scene in vallejo with more. >> reporter: a lot of shock here that this could happen on this street. we jut met with a woman who is very emotional about these murders and the fact that it happened here. police say last night they found two bodies in a yard here. they figured out the suspect was in the home across the street, hostage negotiator convinced 65-year-old man to surrender and they arrested him. neighbors describe him as a vietnam vet who is emotional. and he's friends with the neighbors who are the victims. neighbors here say they all get together and drink, hang out, often argue over politics. but never turned violent they never even had a fistfight so people are stunned this happened. the suspect is described as neighborly, people say he likes to help out, always says hello, helps people wheel their trash cans to the curb. the victims are described as being 50 and 58-years-old. police haven't released any more

and that ever, tonight vallejo's mayor is not staying quiet after someone torched his law office over the weekend. the fbi is investigating the fire as a possible act of domestic terrorism. nbc bay area's jodi hernandez joins us in vallejo this evening. jodi, what do we have tonight? >> reporter: raj, vallejo police say they fully expect to have the fbi and atf help in this investigation. they say evidence that they pulled from mayor osby davis' office has now been sent to an atf lab. meanwhile, the mayor is finally talking about what happened here. mayor osby davis talked to reporters about the arson fire for the first time this morning. he said he does believe the torching was political. while he would not elaborate on who he believes is behind it, he certainly has had plenty of critics through the years. he has most recently taken a lot of heat for a slew of officer-involved shootings. the mayor says whoever is responsible, he is determined not to let this steer him from his profession as a lawyer or from his duties as mayor. >> although i believe that the last criminal act is part

-eight. presence in a vallejo neighborhood. joe vazquez is there. joe 's >>> a heavy police presence in vallejo. joe vazquez is there. what's the latest? >> reporter: right now evacuations are under way here in the castlewood section of east vallejo. behind me you can see the heavy police presence. dozens of police officers including the bomb squad and the crisis response team as well as s.w.a.t. teams in the area. now, what they tell us is they are evacuating the area around the 3700 block of georgia where they made an arrest just a short while ago. we have some video of the man that they arrested at that residence. they put him here in the crisis response unit and they are questioning him as we speak. meanwhile they are evacuating some homes around that guy's house. they are not telling us why exactly they are evacuating homes and they are not telling residents why. but like i say the bomb squad unit is on the scene. and other police officers are here. they were prepared apparently for this guy to have a long drawnout affair but they arrested him fairly quickly and now evacuations still under
